Objectives

The EurOPDX Research Infrastructure aims to improve cancer drug development success rates through the enablement of collaborative PDX research. To enable effective PDX resource sharing, the project will develop common standards and procedures for PDX biobanking, quality control, and in vivo studies. These activities will enable the effective provision of free Trans-national Access (TA) to PDX resources and expertise for academic and industrial cancer researchers from Europe and Worldwide. The EurOPDX Data Portal is an important aspect of the EurOPDX Research Infrastructure, and will:

  • Integrate into a public repository the distributed collection of diverse PDX models available from EurOPDX Research Infrastructure partners.

Altogether, the members of the EurOPDX Consortium have established a panel of more than 1,500 subcutaneous and orthotopic PDX models for more than 30 pathologies, we are working to make all of these available on the EurOPDX Data Portal.

  • Develop efficient and user-friendly IT tools to optimize access to-, and data searching of-, the collection of models and their clinical, molecular and pharmacological annotation

Models of interest found in the EurOPDX Data Portal can be exported directly to two additional tools (cBioPortal & GenomeCruzer), where associated clinical, molecular, and pharmacological data can be visualised and interrogated in more depth.

  • Optimize sharing of models and data to avoid duplication of efforts, reducing costs and improving preclinical data.

Models in the EurOPDX Data Portal are listed as available either through “Trans-national access grants” or by “Collaborative agreements”.
